I noticed once I have a few things open, my system locks, on task manager it says I have 0mb RAM free. Then I notice my GFX has been allocated 1.8GB of ram to be used as shared memory, so now my gfx has 2.5gb memory lol. How do I stop that?

Where XP would just leave spare memory free Windows 7 tries to make the best use of it. It will make memory it is using for caching and other similar tasks available when needed.

Even if it was using all the available physical memory it would have the pagefile to fall back on (assuming you haven’t disabled it for some reason).

If your machine is locking then there's obviously a problem.

Windows 7 reporting 0MB free memory isn’t a problem.

Try posting some details about the problem and someone may be able to help.

I don't think having 0MB of RAM free is your problem with the system locking.

I have 8GB of RAM and the Resource Monitor says I have 203MB free. Most of the RAM is on "Standby".

Yeah system resources says its on stand by. Tbh my pc locked when i was streaming music. installing bfbc2 and moving files to another Hdd. But it was when task manager said 0mb free I got worried
