How to stop YouTube from asking me to sign in

Does anyone know how to stop this annoying prompt? It comes up any time I happen to navigate to YouTube.

I tried blocking it via uBlock O but to no avail. I've just been hitting "nope" every time instead, like you've been doing.

The trouble I’ve found with hitting ‘nope’ each time is that the video then fails to play (with some obscure error message). I then have to force close the browser and open again at which point I can play the video.

It’s like it’s been designed to be as difficult as possible to use.

So sign in. It won't stop asking you to sign in unless you sign in.

It’s like it’s been designed to be as difficult as possible to use.

It's been designed to make it very easy to use actually.

Once you signed in, it stops asking you, a VERY simple solution, much quicker than the time you spent on this thread.

I know you want your privacy, but use a fake email address. It's quite simple.

Just create a junk account with gmail and use that to sign in.

That feels like I’d be capitulating to how they want me to do things instead of being able to do things my way.

I’ll just continue pressing ‘nope’ and try and get any content elsewhere instead.

It sounds like you are making a mountain out of a molehill. Just use a fake email address, I know you have one of those for spam.

It’s fine, if there’s no easy way to get rid of the annoying ‘sign in’ box other than doing what they want me to do, I’m quite happy to continue pressing the ‘nope’ option when it asks me. Unless of course someone has a way of blocking that prompt from appearing in the first place, which apparently there isn’t yet.

No freaky videos, I just don’t want to be forced to sign in. So I’m not going to.

I actually don't mind, in fact, I want to because I use it as a library of stuff like tutorials. Without signing in I can't bookmark them.

I’m sorry you think that making a stand against companies forcing certain undesirable behaviours is ‘petulant’. I’d prefer to send the message that it’s not cool to force people to sign in or pester them over and over.

Its the same reason I jump through hoops to create a local account when reinstalling windows 10.

They design these things to make you sign in. You know that already. Even if you find a way around it they'd find a way around that etc. Losing battle.
