Hi guys,

A quick one, how can I tell if an environment is using NAT for their router\gateways?

Is there a tool of some sort I can confirm this.

Depending on the environment your talking about.. Im going to assume it is typical.

All Local Area Networks (LAN).. Use NAT at the border of the WAN..

Its internal IP translation to the internet (WAN) IP. Converting your 192.168.(anything on your network) to the single/multiple WAN internet IPs you have (77.86. etc)

I mean, if your inside an organisations network. It is possible that the above is incorrect. One example scenario where NAT could be not present is based on the use of static IP's and routes... So the above test wouldn't confirm NAT's presence in this case but still appear as if NAT was there and was working.

If your having problems we would need more info.
