How to tell if youre 8800 GTX has a faulty resistor...

This info helps to follow up my previous post.
it does seem they use the 2% tollernace value SMD resistors then.
Although slightly confusing as it runs into the Mega ohm values.


E22 = 750Ω x 10000 = 7.5MΩ

Post your codes if your concerned.

seeing as how ocuk were the first to get stock in, im gonna go on the assumption that ocuk will be putting the dodgey cards into circulation.

that looks like a butchered card. would not want to be paying 400 quid+ for one of those. :mad:

Er.. you do realise that's 15mm across the whole image?

Butchered? The soldering is amazing, the resistors are tiny, like 2mm long.

OcUK had their stock replaced prior to launch.

I hope so because I've been having some wierd problems with mine, a few of my games just keep going back to the desktop with no error code or nothing :confused: also a lot of my older games seem to have graphics corruption, I'm just hoping it's a driver problem as the only thing i've changed is the graphics card and I never had these problems with my 7800gtx it just does'nt feel solid like past nvidia cards, I have a "Enermax Liberty 620W ELT620AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU" this should be powerfull enougth should'nt it ?, also still no joy with it working with my 6200 for multidisplay.

Re-install drivers - use a nvidia removal tool. If that doesn't sort it out, RMA it (if possible). Your PSU could be also be a problem - my 700w was not enough to run all my HD's/Drives optics + fans etc with my 8800GTX Sli (similar crashing problem) - the was a website I went to (cant remember - was a link in one of the forums) which let me put in the details of my system and it tells you how much power will be required. ..I was shocked to find out that my system requires a lot more power to sustain these power draining beasts - so I upgraded my PSU which sorted the problem. (I went for the 1000w enermax)

That's the problem i have.. I'm going to re-format see if that helps at all.
+ i don't think it's my PSU since its a tagan 700w
 
Its pretty straight forward, if the resistor says 68C you may have a problem. And just because all the stock was changed, unless they were all check individually on receipt. I don't see how anyone can be absolutely certain one hasn't slipped through.

E22 here as well, not assembled it in my new system yet though.
 
Ok the problem is back again...

I tried cod2 and everything is fine. It's just source and that is my main game. Any one have any ideas? :/ need help urgently

Don't understand the E22. It's not 7.5MΩ, put the DMM over it, it reads 21K7. Not quite the 25K5 reported but near enough.
