I'm sure someone here knows the procedure for this, apparently it is not important enough for the DVLA to write about.

Basically the story goes along the lines of that we have 3 cars which are still registered in my dads name. All of them need to be changed, however he cannot exactly sign the declaration box any more, so what is the procedure for this?

Assuming the owner is deceased, the vehicles would be part of their estate, and would be dealt with by the executors. A certified copy of the Grant of Probate may be needed, but that's all that should be needed. It'll probably depend on exactly what the executors are going to do with them.

When I bought my last car the previous owner signed the wrong bit of the form, so when I sent the slip off it didnt even have their sig on at all, only mine as the new buyer. DVLA either didnt notice or didnt care. I got my new V5 back in my name within about 10 days.

Sorry to hear that. :(

Someone should be inheriting the cars though, i.e becomming their new owner. This person should be the new signatory - not sure how it all works in reality though.

My father had my mother's car transfered into my name when she died, filled in the v5 Except for signiture, and put a note in signed by himself explaining things. Went straight through without any major hassles, got a letter offering condolances and explaining that a new v5 would follow shortly, which it did
