How to tune GT50 freesat?

My Dad is a dribbling retard, I am 100 miles away and he cannot tune this damn TV after his sky box packed up.

I downloaded the manual and tried to talk him through it over the phone but he is an idiot and cannot follow basic instructions.

Can anyone describe how to set it up for me?

The manual says:

MENU > SETUP > ANT/CABLE SETUP > ANT IN > AUTO PROGRAM

He claims there is no ANT/CABLE MENU???

your dad is right, there is no ant/cable setup menu, in the setup menu there is:

eco nav
recording setup
bluetooth setup
link settings
child lock
display settings
divx vod
advance (isfcc)
system menu
other settings

none of these have free view or free sat stuff inside them, in fact i cannot find either anywhere, so if you do find out let me know

edit:

just found out how to do it

in the top right of the remote control there is 2 input buttons tv and av

press tv

select freesat from the menu of 3 options: freesat, dvb and analogue.

it should then say no channels found, press ok to start auto-setup.

i don't think i have ever read the manual of any product i have ever bought, apart from ikea furniture and weightlifting/gym equipment.

it's far quicker to learn by using the product.

e.g. i found out how to do the above within a few minutes of playing about.

Bear in mind the Menu's will likely change depending on the Input selected.. Make sure he's selected the freesat one first.

And I found out in 20 seconds by opening the manual at the index, searching for Freesat tuning and turning to page 54...
