Hi there

I just bought a NAS to backup my important files. It's the first time I use a NAS, and I am struggling in the most easiest task I guess !

I'm using Win7. I put the folder on share. I go to the backup applications on the NAS, and put the URL : ftp:\\192.168.0.2\test\ (this is the folder I try to copy into the nas).

But when I click on "test", I get the error message :
URL ftp:\\192.168.0.2\test
Test Result Fail
File Size Unavailable

I tried all sorts of things for the url but I always get this error message.

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks for helping guys I'm about to throw this out of the window

So you’re trying to get the NAS to initiate a backup of data stored on the Win 7 PC?

If you’re trying to do this via FTP then the PC would need to be configured to act as a FTP server (which it won’t be by default).

Have you just tried using

\\192.168.0.2\test

instead of

ftp:\\192.168.0.2\test
