How do you value your PC when selling. Was just looking at used prices and couldn't tell.
Should you value a used PC on all the components used prices, as it looks like that would be a little bit too low. Do you add anything on for the fact it has an os?
I also think some add more to the price expecting to be knocked down.

I generally knock between 10%-40% off the price I paid. It depends on what parts you are selling, GPU's take a hefty loss normally, whereas CPUs hold a decent value.

We still see some 2500K fetch £100+. A Titan X for example I've seen go for £500.

I'll look in the MM and see what parts are going for then price mine roughly around that. Yes you can get more elsewhere but atleast on here I haven't had anyone buy something then completely break it when they've received it.

prices vary..

for me i can break even on what it cost me to build, maybe get a few quid extra or lose some money, depends on what you are offering, i usually sell old/basic computers.

i found in my experience to get the big bucks this is what people seem to look for:

dual core(minimum)
4gb ram(2gb okay times)
dx11 GPU(dx10 ones can sell too)
hdd from 250gb
windows 7
decent monitor, keyboard, mouse(if you make a set up.
wireless internet

windows 7, big hdd, wireless are the 3 key features people look for, speed is another, but single core can be fast..

i recently sold a small tower with the following:

cit case + 500w psu
asus 754 board with sempron 1.8 overclocked to 2.25
2gb ddr ram
160gb or 250gb hdd(cant remember)
geforce 310 512mb dx10
windows 7 HP 32bit

i ended up selling this for £25 after a struggle above(case was brand new and cost more lol)and generally giving up as needed the money.

have sold newer than that for 50-85, but usually higher spec, but its a tough world out there...

if you look on auction sites or 2nd hand places for a near like for like then thats what you should technically aim for even though some people over price.

When you say "it looks a little too low" that generally means your hardware isn't worth as much as you want it to be.

Well it's just it seems on average if someone is selling a PC it's just more expensive than the sum of it parts. I value my PC at a certain price but I've seen many sell for a little to a lot more with the same spec.
And I'm not sure where the added primium comes from hence why I ask are people charging more for it having an os on and fact it's a full PC and already up and running or something.
