Hey

I want to get WiFi N in so that I can stream HD from my server to devices and my HTPC. I have Powerline adapters, but they are pants.

I don't know what the best option is though. I have Sky broadband so have the Sky router which (as far as I know) is only b/g. So do I buy an ADSL router with Wireless N and replace the Sky one (how difficult is it to get the required connection details out of Sky?), or do I just disable the wireless on the Sky box and buy a wireless n access point and plug it into my existing wired network?

Recommendations for either route, and therefore either device would be great :)

Sky wont give you the connection details but they can be extracted as above, provided you are connecting via PPPoA anyway. A wifi N access point would be simple enough and you could position it so it gives best coverage to your devices.

You may still struggle to stream high bitrate HD though with a wireless connection.

Cheers. I had a feeling Sky wouldn't make it easy to use your own router.

I know WiFi n isn't perfect. When I own my own place or will have gigabit Ethernet wired around the house, but while I'm renting WiFi will have to do.

Would it be possible to do this even cheaper with a prodcut such as a "Tenda W311R+"?

Hopefully I'm not hijacking this thread as it is the exact same problem!
