I have just taken delivery of my barbs that I ordered. However, they all appear, to me anyway, to be wrong. Now either the order was completely picked wrong, or more likely, I am a plonker and do not know how to measure barb sizes correctly.

Could some one please explain how to measure the barbs. The side the tubing connects to is correct, however the threaded portion is what I am having problems with. I have an Eheim Innovatek pump and I measure the two holes. One I measured at 1/2" and the other at 3/8". Now all I did was measure one side of the thread to the other. Is this correct?

No, they are BSP fittings, and the thread diameter itself is different to the measured size (1/2" BSP is the correct thread for a 1/2" pipe, not 1/2" diameter).

BSP is GAS is (New ISO designation) Rp

The Minor diameter is the core diameter, or the hole size
The major is the outside diameter of the thread.

lol, must be the time of night but that has confused me even more.

Is there anyone on here that has the Eheim HPPS 12v pump with the added Innovatek header that would be able to tell me what barbs they have please?
