How was your 2022 and what are your plans for 2023?

2022 has been a poor year for me. I've had very poor health throughout the year and have gained loads of weight. My job sucks too as my job role within the company does not exist (employer has basically lied to me) and I have been working on **** projects that I have no interest in doing or learning about.

2023 will be a better year for me.
1. I discovered in November that I have an allergy to a common medication - since finding this out I've felt much healthier so hopefully hopefully this will continue. I'm going to take looking after my physical and mental health much more seriously going forward.
2. I am going to get a new job; getting a good pay rise in the process and restarting my professional goal of becoming a chartered engineer.
3. I am going to stop drinking entirely. I have alcoholism in the family and having a beer causes disordered eating and has turned me into a fat knacker. Its taken too long to realise that beer does me no favours and tbh I no longer enjoy drinking anyway.

Continued to sink into the idea that I'm not cut out for the role at work despite 2 payrises. Just losing faith in the company and myself.

Ah, the dreaded imposter syndrome? What role are you in?, Im pretty sure you were in a similar industry to me from a previous thread?, although maybe a different sector

Definitely some imposter syndrome, but genuinely think I'm not that good at my "main" role - title is software developer, I work on smart TV apps/broadcast stuff. But think I'm better at the niche TV knowledge than purely coding :)

Somewhat blagged my way sideways into this role from a more testing/systems engineering role.

I must have got you mixed up with someone else then :o I had it in my head that you were involved in the electrical or building services industries!

2022 has been a fair year. Job has been hard but exciting. A health kick later in the year was great, to be progressed in 2023. At times I have been a bit frantic, but counselling has helped. I also went of a couple of dream road trips to the USA, which was fab.

2023 will hopefully bring more of the same, but with better stress management. Look forward to it!

Lost 45kgs over 2020/2021 and put 10 of that back on in 2022 so that's the primary goal. Not buying another wardrobe.

Moving house and focussing on work for the most part. Wife and I have pretty much called it done at this point(mutually) so just focussing on the future and what that will bring for me. Probably go back in to therapy for a bit and try to figure out some stuff that I can improve on.
