How weird is this: A chair that builds itself... (strange title for a strange post!)

i for one would be getting pretty mad if my car and pc started self destructing ... i just Hope that Skynet doesnt learn how to do this or we will never beat those machines

Self controlled my ass. Radio controlled more like it. Where are the sensors that let it detect where all the parts fell? What if parts were upside down?

Pfft.

was thinking would be good for a prank .. get a mate to sit on the chair and then make it self destruct :D and once he has gone out of the room to tell you whats happend that hes broke your chair just look at him :( and say that was my favourite chair ... when you both walk back into the other room the chair will be all fixed and he would be like WTF . So you get him twice with 1 trick of the chair

Some of you aren't seeing the bigger picture. Imagine an entire auditorium packed with people, all falling on their arses simultaneously. I'd pay to see that... but I wouldn't sit down to watch it. Surely that's worth the millions spent on designing, developing and manufacturing this?!

I thought it was strings/puppet then remote control maybe but actually I think its legit.
Notice the precise squares on the ground for the robot to gain its position from.

Has to be some crazy japanese project, they have entire competitions over robots like this. Like robot wars but more techy.

Put into your average living room and it would become confused and lost I think, unable to recognise the next part in the chain its been preprogrammed with.

Its all feasible just surprisingly well crafted engineering :)

lol, check this very short vid out on there too.

is it just me, or does it seem to skip or not show it closely everytime the joints go together. It looks as if its skipping the actual locking of the parts

i noticed the same thing, when i connects to the legs the video jumps/skips like as if its been paused someone has connected the legs then unpaused recording.
