I mean higher than 1080p.
Thinking of changing of monitor

Did tempt me to get a DGM, owning a 670. However, I do play a lot of games, so would a 120hz be better? I play a lot of genres.
For FPS, 120hz is a must. For anything else I'd prob go with a higher res.
You can nobble a 670 at 1080, it depends on the games and how you definite nobble, I suppose.
You aren't going to get a constant 60fps out of The Witcher 2, it can drop as low as the late 30s early 40s, Arma 2 just flattens a 670 if you whack everything up, hovers around 30-40 outdoors.
So a 670 is enough? Couldn't just play BF3 on Ultra at 1080 on that size of screen? How would it fair on High at 2560x1440.
Someone made a great point about needing the power to run both. If you can't push 120fps in modern games then it just remains a TN panel. If I can't push 60fps maxed out, I could lower to 1080 or certain settings like no AA or notch shadows down one, but i'd still have a big screen, great colour reproduction, etc.
After his comment, it's really appealing.. but would it justify the £80 extra over the S23A750D? I play FPS', racing games, SWTOR (some mmo's), watch films, do video editing, etc. What's the lag going to be like? Currently on a Cibox 22" monitor at the moment which rates at 5ms.
Thought this shouldn't justify a new thread really.
Well, my main games are FPS so I went for the 120hz. If my main game was MMO's or RPG's or summit then I'd prob go for the high res. Depends on what games you want to be playing the most.
So a 670 is enough?
I play on 1440p with one 670. It copes fine, it has more than enough power.
Another alternative is pairing this 120hz with my current Cibox monitor. I'd have an expanded desktop and smoother gameplay. When I had a BenQ XL2420T, you could tell the difference on BF3, even at 60fps; mostly as it changed between 60-90.
It's hard, but I would save £80 and gaming is my priority at home with video editing being done on the Macs at our University.
The glass of the S23A750D also makes the picture quality better too apparently, so think i'm sold on that especially if I grab an SSD too.
I also do this with my 2 monitors but because I don't use a proper active adapter I only have 120hz on one screen and 60hz on the other. The GPU can only output the 60hz so BF3 is a mess on the main 120hz screen. The only way around it is to plug out the cable from the GPU of the 60hz screen before loading and putting it back in when you're finished.
I was fine having one monitor running in 120hz and the other in 60hz on the desktop a while back. Getting the Samsung would mean having one matte 60hz monitor alongside a 120hz glossy. My 60hz will just be for "extra space" anyway.
Are you sure? I can totally see the difference with my 120hz next to my 60hz.
