Hi, can someone give me an idea of how well the following cpu loop will function.

OCZ HydroFlow HF-MK1 CPU Waterblock
XSPC 450 9.5w Pump/Reservoir
XSPC RS240 120mm Radiator - Black
XSPC 1/2" High Flexibility PVC Tubing - 1m
PrimoChill ICE Non-Conductive Coolant
2 X Akasa 1200 rpm 120mm fans

Thanks.

Lose the primochill and just use distilled water with anti-algee addatives is your need a window.
And swap the 1/2" tube for 7/16"
you will also need four 1/2" barbs (two for the pump and two for the rad)

That's penny's short of £100 without the fans but will do the job BUT
1) it has very little upgrade potential
2) limited resale value
3) And for £100 you can get quality cpu and gpu heatsinks and upgrade all you case fans.
This will give you a quieter pc that is cooler or clocks higher that the loop would acheive.

Second hand hardware is only real option to do watercooling on the cheap. What you have listed is an above average cpu loop but it's not value for money.

If the money if burning a whole in your pocket get a top notch air cooling (many watercooling members are moving back to air)
It can be just as 'shiny' as water and quality kit is always cool

If you want watercooling for silence - save up and get some quality kit that will outlast your first, second and maybe third car's
If you want extream oc'ing potential or lower temps - save up and get some quality kit that will outlast your first car and maybe second.

You do need to spend at least £150 on WC to make it worth while over a top end air cooling set up.

If you save up and spend the money now on WC then you can keep it for a long time, just changing the water socket fitting for the water block(s) as you upgrade your PC.
