how will this perform on games such as GTA4 and crysis??

Graphics card is lacking a little bit mate. Get something like a GTX260/275 and I think it would be a better all rounder.

hey guys atm im running at 1440x900 but planning on investing in a 24inch 1680x1050 LCD monitor, I had to edit the origional post because i thought my mobo was AM2 but just noticed on the box it says AM3 Ready, Happy days =D

i think im deffo gonna upgrade to either...

or
XFX GeForce GTX 275

i prefer XFX as you can see , which of these 2 would preform best?

The 275 is faster but not by much. Get which ever is cheapest.

The 275 is a gd card overclocks ok but the 4890 can be had a lot cheaper and overclocks well

Don't leave your PII 965 at stock speed...it can overclocked from 3.4GHz to nearly 4GHz (if C3 stepping). Of course, it would depend on your motherboard too.

24" should be 1920 X1080 at least and I would go 4890 over 275, cheaper and just as fast. 5850 if you want Dx11.

Depends. Some of the 260's can be had cheap as chips but with the 285 for example I whole heartedly agree with you.
