I was bought a samsung 930bf from overclockers at xmas but it has some nasty light bleed across the middle of the screen.. so who do I need to contact for an rma, ocuk or samsung?
contact OcUK in the first instance and they will hopefully be able to arrange an RMA for you. They will then send it out to Samsung, or perhaps might just refer you directly. Always a good idea to check with the retailer first though
I'll contact ocuk first for some advice and then maybes Samsung.
I have done an exchange with samsung before when my old 181T popped, it was smooth. I wasnt sure though as this was still in the first year here.
With regards to pictures I'll try and get a good shot or shots of it posted. It kind of goes all the way accross the middle of the screen and it stands out more when your playing a game, like oblivion for instance.. the darker bits in the caverns, its horrible.
Anyhow cheers, I'll keep you all posted.
P.S.
Thanks for that Samsung number Bitboy.
Edit:
I hope the replacement has no dead pixels or bleed.
I just been on the phone to Samsung, it was quite funny.. I was talking to some girl and she treid to tell me it sounded like user damage! lol and said this sort of problem isnt normally covered under the warranty.. well I wasnt having any of that. I was polite and explained a bit about lightbleed, she seemed a little puzzled by it all.. anyway upshot is they are coming out to replace it with a different one. This I expect will be a refurb, I just hope it's ok.
Surely, under statutory rights, if an item fails under its manufacturers first year guarantee then you should be entitled to the equivalent of what you bought, i.e. a new unit...?
Last time I got a refurb of Samsung, you could tell it wasnt a new tft. HP do the same, any printers / all in ones they replace are refurbs. I just hope the replacment coming isnt worse than the one I have at the mo, but thats the gamble I guess.
