How would you address this electrical issue?

The connector plugs into the ABS module, and the other side of it is hardwired into the pump driving the ABS motor. Hardwiring sadly not an option, but certainly worth considering for other wires that may fail!

Or sell it, make sure you list it as the correct model though.;)

*ring ring ring* Oh hai, dis is acme calling about the car...

Yeah, that's one of the three threads I've been bouncing back and forth between. It seems like both soldering (heatshrink self-solder connectors or traditional methods) in addition to simply re-sleeving are both valid options according to said threads, but neither reported on longevity - even in the case where the ABS issue was not solved.

The idea of soldering on new cable is great in theory as guarantees good insulation, but does not hold in practice as I cannot replace the weatherproofing on the pins - at least I cannot find it online! That would then require two solder joints which then mean double the potential failure points in heatcycles/vibrations.
Weather proofing on the back of the plug?
Pack it up with silicone or tiger seal or instant gasket.

I’d go with tiger seal if you have some trim bit that need replacing or sticking back on. If no silicone or instant gasket.

If you secure the wire along its length to the body it would save the joint from vibration. I have done several solder jobs on abs looms and a few pad wear sensors on vw non have come back from broken joint.
As long as you don’t heat the solder onto the wire, heat the wire and and let the solder flow though the join you’ll be alright
