How would you change the Hungaroring layout?

Ah, Grand Valley Speedway!

I agree though, while a great game track, I don't think it would work in real life. To many corners.

Think we should maybe just raise the full Nordschleife instead.
Tight and twisty, tough to overtake.

Would anyone care to object at all? :D

That feel when you miss the braking zone on the first corner :o:eek::mad:

Are we just going to go through listing all the Gran Turismo fictional tracks :D

There are some great ones, but I'm not sure they would all work for F1.

Here's my thoughts. Run high downforce for the twisty middle sections and you're ****** on the straights! :D

Why is everyone changing the first 2 corners? They're great!
Old track is the faded overlay.

First 2 corners are the same, longer run to the next section. The chicane and stuff at the back of the shot can stay (as it looked awesome with the fly by wire camera :D)
Changed the double right hander to a long multiple apex fast corner as the drivers love them, extend the bit before the main straight.
Longer straight!

Some slight changes to tracks, maybe, there still won't be more than one optimal line while the tyres fall apart at the slightest pushing and while the tyres drop marbles all over everything but the racing line.

Current rules/tyres mean going "off line" costs you more on tyres than you can gain even if you get an overtake. Fix tyres first, then maybe think about tracks.

We used to have outbraking others into corners and sliding around corners faster but far riskier as real tools drivers could use, those things were more driver skill than car ability and could be used because you didn't ruin a set of tyres. Currently when tyres are the biggest problem the only "fix" to tracks is providing a long enough DRS zone to overtake safely and without risking your entire stint on one corner overtake.

So basically exactly the same track but with even fewer opportunities to pass?

Even fewer? How on earth did you come to that conclusion. 3 longer straights...
The only bit that isn't a longer straight is removing a pair of right handers that you will NEVER see an F1 car overtake around anyway.
:/

I can kinda see that. The corner at the bottom, looking at it, would really not be helpful for overtaking.

Let's face it, lots of fast straights with heavy braking would suit F1 cars. Something like this perhaps:
