How would you moderate your own GD threads?

What do you think?

As far as I'm concerned if I start a thread then it's open season and people can be as rude to me as they want. AFAIK you are all bots anyway and I'm playing in the Matrix. I may sometimes pretend I've been insulted but I'm not.

One of the best threads ever has been totally removed because the Mods decreed that the OP was 'trolling'. He may have been trolling but what an amazing thread with some great replies against him and his fellow CT'ers. This is what I hate about Modding.

or heavily biased towards Marxism and My Little Pony.
Leave my little pony out of it...

the problem i always have when im running/mod on forums is i dont mind what people say.... everyone should have their say imo.

unless of course its a direct insult to someone else other than me, thats theres no good reason for.

I'd just correct spelling/grammar in thread titles that annoy me

As for borderline on forums rules... let them play out, it's often worth it! :D

If it were my kingdom, all 'rules' made into 'guidance' for me to moderate at my discretion.

In other words, suspensions only handed out for people being jerks. The problem with a rule based system is that people can abide by them and still be provocative, irritating and downright unpleasant. There would be far less punishments handed out under my regime, but some posters would probably be gone for failure to treat others with respect. Such an approach also stops undue punishment for petty rule breaking.

Oh and I'd stop moving things between forums with undue zealously - just because it's a topic about food doesn't mean it has to go in the food forum!

I'd probably do nothing. Maybe occasionally yell at people who spam / cross the line. Thats about it. Probably a good idea I'm not in charge.
