How would you react if your child ...

No kids so am happy, some people have babies so not sure how they would take the news of their 6 month year old going on a killing spree.

Bizzare post opening as 99.9% of posters here will be disgusted. No one is going to say "I am so proud of my son", 0.1% of trolls will say something controversial here no doubt.

I must be having an off day.
 
Truly disgusted and disappointed. Accept that I had failed them in some almighty way and feel awful. I'd still love them, though.
 
Me personally, (thought i dont have kids) would be gutted, and probably never get over it, but on the subject it got me thinking, if a family became suicide bombers/mass murderers do you reckon theyd be proud of each other? :confused:
 
Not the same thing, but you could relate to this, I guess.

Your son converts to Islam. Your son fights for the Taliban. Your son is labelled a terrorist. Your son is still your son.

I don't think anyone would say "I'm proud of little Timmy, he showed those students good"

But all your friends, neighbors and work colleagues would know that it was your child. People that you see every day would know your child was responsible for countless lives ruined. It would be even worse if you lived locally to the atrocity.

Would you stay and wait for things to "Smooth over"?
Would you attend your own child's funeral?
Would you attend the funerals of the other victims?
Would you move away from the area possibly to another country?
Would you feel responsible for the deaths?
 
Probably wonder how I let my child do what he did, think was there anything I could have done when I brought him up, did i treat him right.

He must have had somthing trigger what he did, maybe when he was growing up in America after moving from SK.

Ask him how the **** he got to America, and why didn't he go to Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan instead?

Suppose I would be sad that he/she was going to get executed!
 
Some parents seem actually proud of their child killing innocent people, look at George and Barbara Bush.

It would be difficult to cope with. Maybe I'd half blame myself, could have brought him up better etc. They must be going through hell right now.
