the goal is to build a system that can run all cores processing, Clean Energy Phase 2 (CEP2) WUs on WCG.

i have a thread going about this at WCG ...

one of the elements to make this happen is an OS that runs totally from RAM.

and WIKI says this can be done with Ubuntu

"Additionally some distributions can be configured to run from RAM, such as Ubuntu using the toram option included in the Casper scripts.[2]"

does anyone know how to take my current installed and configured 14.04LTS
OS and make it load into and run totally from ram?

    or am i misinformed?

    Have you read this...

In essence it sounds like you are just trying to install Ubuntu when it does a trial install to RAM to see if you like it. One little power glitch though and everything has gone
