It's been put on their Facebook that Howard and KSE have parted ways :( as much as this saddens me and I know that Howard is an amazing singer I feel that KSE have gone a tad stale. Could this mean a return of Jesse though, or possibly Phil Labonte? Anyone with other ideas who could replace him?

:( A return of Jesse would be good but I must admit I preferred Howards Vocals.

Simple Dimple :D you crazy kid!

That is a bit of a shame. Didn't he get some pornstar pregnant?

I really enjoyed Jesse's latest effort with Adam in Times of Grace, and Ive always preffered Jesse's vocals if I'm honest. Ultimately I would argue it boils down to better songs/lyrics. I thought KsE may have come back with some blinding Howard suited songs to rival those on End Of Heartache but alas :(

You're right, KsE has been going stale, Daylight Dies was KsE by numbers, repeating the same old established cliches, and the second self-titled was simply a horrendous step in the same direction, and didn't end up sounding heavier and more melodic, just unmusical and uninspired. Almost as if Adam deliberately decided to write crap. There were only one or two good moments really.

Everyone knows Jesse was way better than howard :p, still a great shame.

I agree, Killswitch died for me when Daylight Dies came out, shame because when I first heard Alive or Just Breathing it was mindblowing, a totally knew kind of metal and they set the standard to which so many bands aspired to reach.

Also, All That Remains... another band that has gone downhill, mainly due to the vocals, there seems to be an increasing number of metal bands getting rid of the screaming vocals, as if its not "trendy" anymore or something. Im just glad that bands like As I Lay Dying are still pumping out heavy as chuffing **** songs.

Adam won't be able to do his line of 'When Darkness Falls' jokes anymore:p

It's a shame Howard's left, he had much more stage presence than Jesse and his screaming was better. Jesse is still a great singer though and it would be good to see him back in the band again.

But seriously, what was his reason for leaving? Real shame as I liked him a lot.

As a guess his private life was so messed up with affairs etc that he had to leave mid-Tour last year so maybe he gave up the band & touring totally to give his marriage a go?

Just a guess.

I've heard that he was getting himself a pretty nasty drug habit too.

Getting a pornstar pregnant AND developing a crack addiction? Quite funny given that the dude's a massive Christian.

The All That Remains singer has ruled himself out as being the new vocalist. I hope Jesse comes back, then I might start listening to them again.

Former Killswitch Engage front-man Howard Jones has revealed the reasons behind his departure from the band which was announced earlier this week. Jones’ statement reads:

“Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some of you may know, I’ve had a pretty interesting couple of years to say the least battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with type two diabetes that went unchecked for years. The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and to be honest they are the ones that kept me going. The whole experience definitely put a scare in me.

“Recently we’ve all been in writing mode but somehow I couldn’t get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight I now realize that my heart wasn’t in it. I have had an amazing decade with KSE. I love Justin, MikeD, Joel and Adam for hanging in there and standing by me no matter how bad it was. I have so many good memories, and those are the ones that I will keep. Will I be involved in music again? Sure, I have been in bands for a little over half my life, can’t stop now. Until then, get the new KsE album, it’s going to be good. Thanks everyone for letting me try to entertain you, and I wish myself well in my future endeavors. Gone fishin’ Howard”

Ah that's good that he sorted himself out. A decision for the best then!

Definitely.

I've been scouring the news looking for who's going to be replacing Howard, seems to be just dodgy rumours at the moment. Labonte has said no and theres a rumour about Tommy Vext, who seems like a bit of a ****, auditioning. I've still got my fingers crossed for Jesse to come back though, I loved Time of Grace's album!

Sad to see Howard go, if I remember rightly they almost had the vocalist from unearth before Howard joined, wouldn't mind seeing him take over tho, never felt Jesse was a strong singer and not sure how he would cover Howard more melodic parts.
