Hey everyone.
So basically I have a few components already and was wondering, what next?

In my possession:
-Coolermaster HAF 922 Case (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-176-CM)
-AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 550 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-249-AM&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1328)
-Asus M4A785TD-V Evo (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-355-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1481)

The problem is that I am unsure of what else I should get to go with what I already have, like which ram, graphics card, etc.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Sorry, I knew I'd left something out. :p

I'd like to be able to use the computer for gaming (TF2, CS:S) and maybe the occasional Photoshop endeavour (Little things like Signatures/Avatars). Other than that just things like word processing, browsing and general things like that.

There isn't really a set budget, but I prefer to get the best possible system for what I spend. So let your minds run free!?

Oh and on another note, is overclocking possible on that motherboard/processor?

Thanks again.

Hello StarGazerX,

Welcome to OcUK Forums! :)

Please read and understand the forum rules and enjoy your stay . . .

I'm McLoving all the affordable goodies that AMD are selling atm and having used a new AMD PC I can't recommend them enough! :D

Here's a couple of simple builds that you may find useful, basically all good kit and super affordable. You would still need to add a few bits like case, psu etc but if buying new these builds are very hard to beat for value while at the same time delivering very good performance for people in the Real World! :p

Thanks for the warm welcome :)
So for the kind of builds you mentioned there, what kind of power supply would be required?

Also while browsing the forums I've noticed people talking of unlocking cores on the 550. If possible, please could someone explain this?

So does this look like a reasonable build? Like it would all work together no problem, right?

hi yes all looks good to me

Ok then great. Thanks for all the help everyone! :D

Now the second topic.
Should I try to overclock on this board/processor?
If so should I invest in a cpu cooler and where should I try overclock to?
