How's my rig setup looking?

Hi :D

What would you like the PC to handle?

Photoshop, Gaming, 3D Modelling?

It would be handy for the admins to create a thread template for specs.

Budget: 1.5k - 2k
Needs: photoshop gaming mostly and I do stream my gaming on twitch.tv and edit and upload the clips to YouTube.
Already Have: a good computer but want this one built from scratch
Experience: not much but am a good learner.

Should have put this in sorry

High end CPU coolers (like the one I've specified) offer fantastic performance (bang-for-buck). Watercooling doesn't offer the same value.

As for fast memory, they are insignificant and don't offer a worthwhile difference given the extra price.

Ah okay awesome I think I wanted the water cooling for the look mostly I'm on my phone ATM so might have to look at the price difference and see if its worth it for the look

As for the ram thanks for the help will the ram you linked still allow me to stream high end?

Thanks

Either one of those is a serious gaming rig oooozing with potential for editting and encoding videos and both will last you a long time, the 3930k will last years with ease.

I cannot speak for streaming, but here are the requirements.

I cannot imagine the i7 struggling, especially when overclocked.

Of course you can go the extra distance (i7-3930K) but is a very expensive option. They do in fact recommend fast memory (for ultra performance), but these aren't backed up with figures.

Yeah I'm sure the i7 will do fine as for the ram I might just pay a bit more to be safe can you recommend any or is the one I picked okay.

Also I've decided I don't mind getting the water cooling can you recommend a good one that has good bang for buck?

Thanks a bunch for the help buddy.

If you just want decent overclocking (25% or there about), I'd stick to air cooling, It'll do the job fine with minimum hassle (apart maybe from installation :)).

As for which water unit, I'd say the H80i, but it's super expensive. Or you could have a play with this :

1 x Thermalright Chill Factor 3 Tube (4g) Thermal Paste £4.99
1 x No Fan Required £0
1 x Noiseblocker NB-eLoop Fan B12-2 - 120mm £13.99

Still bloody expensive for performance (which will get you to the sweet spot 25% OC).

I think the RAM will be fine. The Samsung is quite nice, and overclocks better.

I'm really not big on Crossfire / SLI. And you can always come back to that later if needed.
