Hi guys, just a couple of questions, firstly here's my initial spec:

*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz @ 3.20GHz / Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3P Intel P45 Motherboard / Kingston HyperX 4GB 8500C5 DDR2 Bundle

XFX ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM (66I-01939)

OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Modular Power Supply

Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD753LJ)

Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black (No PSU)

Samsung SH-S223F/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Total inc. vat + shipping : £790.29
----------------------

Basically I intend to buy the complete thing, if anyone fancies spec ing me a system (CPU, GPU (Preferably something like a 4870), CPU Cooler, RAM (no less than 4GB), Motherboard, Optical drive (that can play games (DVD-ROMS) and watch normal DVDs), Hard Drive, Case, PSU, Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit. As you may have guessed from the spec above I'd ideally like to spend no more than say £720 on the full whack, and would like it to be able to play Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, etc on a 19" monitor smoothly at max settings.

Many thanks in advance

Here is a my build suggestion based on the i7:

Admittedly it is £90 more but the extra performance makes up for it.

If you need to stick with your £790 budget, I suggest getting this CPU and this motherboard. Then with the money saved get this graphics card. Also, 750W PSU isn't required unless you plan on going Crossfire.
