Hows your day going??

Grapefruit size? More life a fried egg size :P. Nah hope you a speedy recovery and hope it's nothing serious.

Just to post my injury story:

Playing a game of footy with mates and got hit as i was going up for a header, as i was going down i pulled the guy down with me, he landed on my foot. When he landed it felt like when you crack your knuckles, it didn't hurt just felt really funny. I tried standing up and walk, that failed bad. So anyway i tried sitting down for 3 minutes thinking it's only a knock. Anyway half hour later i try standing again, that failed. I then decided to go home to rest, i got my brother to help me home, 5 minute walk was like 20 lol. I couldn't drive to hospital and my Grandad says: "It's only bruised wait 'till the morning". So i go to bed and it was the worst night sleep ever, my foot was REALLY swollen by now, on top of the foot and the bottom, like a ball was inflated in the middle of my foot. So i go the hospital, have the usual x-ray and such. They say: "We found a artifact on your foot, come back tomorrow to get it plastered". I thought yeah that's fine. The day after i go into the Doctors office and he sits with me and the x-ray and looks puzzled for a good 5 minutes. He then phones his boss and asks could he come down and have a look at this x-ray. He then tells me as i was looking worried that he think i have done something really serious, he then explains i have done a break/dislocation called a 'lis franc' break. I was like in lamens please ^.^, he says as the guy landed he has dislocated two of my toes and fractures the two what got dislocated. He says i will need to stay in for surgery and he is just asking his boss to see if he has made the right call. His boss came in and looked at it and straight away said: "Yeah, surgery young man". Anyway it's been 7 months and i can just about jog, i am not allowed to play footy 'till the summer. OH, yeah i now got two screws in my foot :(. Hope that makes you feel better :D.

Sorry for long un-organised post :(.

There are far too many pictures of man feet in this thread :/

Have a blurry photo of a woman's broken foot then :p

I've done that kind of thing many a time, stick an ice pack on it, ibuprofen and just keep it up, the next day you'll be able to walk on it without your eyes watering.

My days not brilliant, chisel through water pipe, cue the "OH GOD WHERES THE BLOODY STOP TAP!"

the fuddge is going on... this some sorta swollen ankle fetish thread?!!?

unlucky though dude, get the missus to pamper!

Shocking as always, i have the most mundane pointless call centre job in existence, working for a stationers at an out sourced company, been here 3 years and im still on the same hourly rate as i was when i started

cheers Doods (and doodettes)... all your replies made I larf!!!..

It's all nicely swolen now, looks like an 80 year old womans ankle :D

The pains not too bad now, dosed up on Ibuprophen and my resedent nurse (I love my girlfriend) had checked it and is pampering me!..

All I did was step off the kerb into the road!, but I do have crap dodgy knees and ankles, so I think they just gave way!..

And Yes.. I'm a Bloke.. I'm 35 Yeas old (36 in 9 days) and I cry like a baby on regular occasions!! I'm just not Alpha... or Beta... don't even think I'd make Zeta!!.. :p

Mine looked a hell of a lot worse than that when I went over on it - torn ligaments and no break though.

It was around 6 months ago and it still hurts today.

I used to cycle 15 miles to school and one morning when it was still dark and snowing, some guy opened the door on his battered old Fiesta while I was pedellaing as fast as I could manage down a hill. I hit the leading edge of the door with my head and eventually my chest as my bike went from underneath me and ended up lying next to his door on the floor.

I had a huge door line down my face and chest and weirdly my bike was fine bar a load of scratches. After talking to the guy who was in complete shock he let me on my way so I could go show off my awesome injuries at school. Like hell I was missing out on that.

I tend to do the "I'll walk it off" as I have habit of doing this. A week later I'll still be walking it off but I try not to let it bother me, unless I want the other half to make me a brew....

An acquaintance of mine got a sizeable personal injury and bicycle damages claim when something similar happened to him.
