Hey all, probably a bit of a tough cookie this one.

In March 2009 I bought myself the for-named laptop and all was well until May this year, I was lucky enough to do a few months work out in Cyprus, but when i returned I had found that the screen had cracked in many places in my hand luggage.

I quickly found a replacement screen and at the beginning of July and replaced it. All was well until it came to closing the lid where I would find the screen would turn off. I then found out I had routed the LCD VGA cable incorrectly and as the lid was closing the cable was becoming unplugged from the motherboard.

I then re-routed the cable to what I thought was the correct way, but upon closing the lid again the cable became crushed and upon further inspection some of the smaller wires had snapped. :(

Not to be deterred I found a replacement cable on ebay and returned from work last weekend to come try and fix it again (A month has passed between trying to fix it the first time and now). But upon refitting the new cable and turning on the power I get nothing on the screen what so ever, it powers up fine, the HD spins, the dvd drive also spins up and the speakers play the log on sound, But there is nothing on the screen.

A bit of a long shot, but does anyone know what the problem could be? :p

Is it 100 % the same type of cable, are any pins bent on the motherboard or is it the snap on type connector? It's possible the mobo has blown with the cable being crushed.

It is 100% the same cable, and upon further inspection I cant find any bent pins on the motherboard.

Tried to do a "hard reset' as described on the HP website, but to no avail. :(
