Hp Gen 8 advice

Hi guys,

Just received my HP Gen 81610T, upgraded to 8gb of ram and purchased a 250gb ssd.

I have installed the ssd in the odd bay with the 4 pin power adaptor mod.

I have created raid 0 for the ssd, put a W7 disc image on a usb, booted from the usb to install W7, but the ssd isnt visible.
What am I missing? Do I need to install a raid driver or something?

Why have you created a raid 0 array on a single drive?

Single drive RAID 0 for each drive is the correct way of using the SmartArray as a JBOD controller.

@Gary -- you *do* need a driver, this is a server product. And why Windows 7?!

Since my post, I found the driver through another forum.

The os is now installed fine.

Rotor, I chose W7 as I had spare copy and I am unfamiliar with Linux/redhat so it would have been alien to me. I always though I would try something else. W7 was just easier for me.
