So I have an HP Laptop and booted it up ( not had it on for about 1 week and get this on screen

Boot Device Not Found

Please Install an operating system on your hard disk.

Hard Disk - (3FO).

tried to " Fix PC " but no good ( said no device found).

Had no issues with the lappy at all until today.

anyone have any ideas on what the issue might be please ?

thanks .

Sounds like it isn’t seeing the HDD. Can you see it in BIOS?
Check the boot order in case it’s wiped it somehow.

Well the lappy is set to boot from the CD drive as I put a new windows on about 4 months ago, and as I said it's all been good, does this mean I should go and set the HDD as the boot drive ?...as it was out of the box ?

It means, if you haven’t already, check the boot order. I did an upgrade recently and it completely blanked my boot order.

It’s a long shot as it’s most likely the HDD has failed.

OK so I have put ( again) windows 10 on and it seems ok, I wonder if its worth replacing the HDD with an SSD ?...id the HDD is starting to fail ?
