The 700 is the SAME as a 1000.

The 2140 is a 1000/700 in an aluminium shell.
Estimated prices are an extra £100-£150 above the 700 price.

When I spoke to sales today, they say it's gonna be at least a month before they get the 2140, more like 6 to 8 weeks.

Not too far behind the US release then.

The 2140 has the greater resolution screen though doesn't it? compared to the 1024x600 res on the 1000/700

Even though this is a good deal with the discount code i think ill go for the 2140.


i loved the aluminum body on the 2133 just the via chip which let it down for me.

I got my 1.6 2133 from an ebay seller a month before UK release.


Do you both have your 700's yet ? if so what do you think to it?

Does it have the sim slot?

Mine was delivered today....

Received mine too and its brilliant. The build quality is absolutely excellent and crushes the competition in this regard. Solid product.
 
i just saw one of these things at Currys today, must say that this is one hell of a good looking laptop :)

Bit pricey at 399 tho.

I think from the HP Friends and Family store (I can give details if needed) it's £320? and they often run 10% off promo's

Very cool bit of kit - currently trying to justify my need for one.
 
Just won of these on a speculative bid - so who's got one ? What do you like/dislike ? Any tips ? Anyone running Windows 7 ? Can it do VGA out ?
