Just thought I'd bring dragonuk's thread in the server forum to more peoples attention : http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18216324
If you're in the market for a NAS, this is a very, very good option. It's not much over £100 after Cashback and Vouchers for a quiet, low power,system with 4 SATA bays. The CPU is better than a dual core Atom, and the system is ready to go. I've just ordered one along with a couple of 2TB F4 Ecogreens to have a play with (going OpenSolaris / ZFS
)
There's even a USB port on the mainboard, so you can run FreeNAS on a hidden pen drive and have 5 SATA ports for storage (can fit an extra drive in the optical bay) Maybe even 6 if you used the eSATA port as well. Eat your Heart out Synology/Qnap
If you put a 5450 in (for HDMI Audio/Video and x264 Decoding) it would make a great HTPC too.
