just picked one of these up and initially im more than happy with the quality of the picture when using it for games, photo editing etc. thing is when i go to play dvd's on the computer using media player, the picture looks like rubbish, quite grainy with huge borders around the picture when i select to view full screen. ive installed the software and drivers that came with the monitor, the computers resolution is set to 1680x1050. am i doing something wrong here? is there some settings that i need to change? any help you guys could give will be much appreciated. thanks

it might be windows media player at fault, i have the hp w1907v (the 19 inch version of that), and nero showtime plays dvd's just fine.

edit: and just then trying WMP, it also looks fine :\ so no idea

tried vlc and this will play the dvd full screen but the image quality is still way off. will try updating gfx drivers though.

well tried updating gfx drivers and still having same problems. quick question; ive also been trying some div x movies that ive encoded. they are set at resolution 700x400 and these looked very crisp and clear on my old 17" crt @ 1028 resolution. on this new screen however they look extremly blurred. am i right in assuming that the resolution of the movie is being stretched and this is why they are looking blurry?
