Evening all,

Tomorrow my dad is off to buy a new tractor and he is just wandering if there is anyway to run an hpi check on it incase of outstanding finance?

Will running the reg through www.hpicheck.com likely include any results?

Have done a search and couldn't find much online. Just thought it's worth asking before wasting 20 quid.

Cheers

It's not a waste of £20, how many tractors do you suppose are baught outright? How much of a problem is stolen plant right now?

HPI check is the most comprehensive, you can also buy it repackaged elsewhere for less. Maybe RAC still sell it.

HPI and some of the other larger companies that offer the same service will identify tractors.
I know this, because when telling the guy on the phone the details for my mums recent 2nd hand motor purchase, we got the reg plate miscommunicated and the guy laughed and asked if my mum was buying a tractor (as that was what he saw on the screen in-front of him), we said no and corrected the reg no.
If it's registered with the DVLA databse, then all these hpi check places will have access to it. We used https://www.mycarcheck.com/

I meant a waste as in pay for it and then find the service is not offered for farm machinery.

what tractor?

It's a nice big ol' Massey Ferguson.

I ran it through mytextcheck or whatever it is and it mentioned some details, owners etc but nothing about finance.
