Just out of curiosity, if you're looking to buy a car which has a private reg on there and want to do a HPI check, can you be certain of getting all the correct info from using that plate, or do you have to use the original reg of the car?

The HPI check on my Subaru flagged up all the previous number plate changes, so just use the current registration number and that should be fine.
