I'm not sure if anyone will be able to shed light on this but it's worth a go as it's driving me crazy!!!
Basically in the appartment complex i live there is a HPNA internet service with a 5Mbps connection.
We have a HPNA3 128M ethernet bridge with 2 ethernet LAN plugs.
My girlfriend has her laptop plugged into LAN2 and my computer is plugged in LAN1.
She can use the internet as normal with almost instant speeds but my computer can't access it even half as fast, we're talking 7h30 to download the latest nvidia drivers (only 60ish Mb)
What can be causing these slow speeds? i've tried swapping from LAN1 to LAN2 still with no difference, hers is still normal and mine is deathly slow (d/l @ 2kB/sec etc)

I know what an utter PITA it can be when you know something works but can't get it to work with something else that also works fine by itself ... Any form of router is a good plan as it allows you to plug in anything without the agro of having to change the MAC (some NIC's won't allow you to do this and require you to use a 3rd party program), may also be worth getting your MAC added to the approved list just for the hell of it.
