HRT F112 launched

Premium beige F.T.W.

Did nobody think that seeing as there is a lack of sponsorship, it might be a good idea to put the rear wing sponsor on the outside rather than hidden away inside?

Or is it just where a mechanic puked?

some differences are more obvious here, looks like the nose is new, and the front suspension mounting is different. Dunno would this mean its a new tub or a modification of the previous one, certainly despite being similar in many ways ot the previous it does look like its a new car. front wing is last years without the winglets, probably just fitted on so they can run the car.

It does look very different to previous years to me. Still very basic though.

You only need to see the front wing to know that its not a quick car.

Though the lack of downforce might mean its quick in a straight line. lol

Many parts still look the same as the previous year - the front nose is the same design but just dipped to meet the regs. The rear looks maybe a litter tighter packaged but not that much.

Sponsorship is often priced based on the location of the car, the outside of the wing will be a lot more costly than the inside

That holds true for bigger teams but you'd think HRT/Marussia would at least give those companies that are throwing money away a little bit of credit with a more prominent ad. It's not like they're short of room. You can still price them based on space.

nose only looks similar because the camera mounts are on the tip like before its otherwise very different, the tip is higher and the area under the nose is now completely different, previous nose was very rounded underneath and came down to meet the lower wishbone mounting which was more or less in the centreline of the car, as thats all changed now to a front suspension more inline with what everyone else is doing the whole nose and aero concept in that area is different. I would imagine the cosworth engine must dictate a lot of what go's on at the rear but they have changed to pullrod this time round.

Well, it's got 4 wheels.

I can't see them having twiddled their thumbs over winter so there must be more to these things than meets the eye. doesn't mean it'll be as quick as the other teams but here's hoping they're not too far off the pace from the start.

That's not how it works sadly, they need to try and sell that bit of real estate

Not that they will, I'm staggered anyone backs them but it won't do them many favours giving away premium space on the car for free

Exactly though, they never will sell it, so why not use what you have. It's not like anyone is going to come along with $50m and want the sidepod when you could just stick all 4 of your sponsors on there nice and big instead of the tiddly little line you can't read anyway at the bottom of the car. And if they did you could put clauses in to move them in such an event.
