HSBC online and app banking down!

Anyone else bank with HSBC? The whole internet banking platform appears to be down. ho hum!

FirstDirect is ok and they certainly used to use the same back end mainframes as HSBC corporate.

HSBC App is down for me as well. When I tried to back out of the app I got a notification to rate the app

Made me laugh, I just got an email from them saying I should check my online banking. Perhaps not the best time to add to the pile of people loading the app.

I've been a good boy this year and not succumbed to any BF offers and this limitation is certainly helping with these efforts!

I've never worked for HSBC and don't even work for a bank now. But I've had several roles where I was often involved in major incidents with banking systems being unavailable. I can picture their major incident call right now

The payment systems will almost certainly be separate. So they should still be able to use the money via debit card or online purchasing (unless those systems are FUBAR too).

Yup, down for me as well.. I did notice last night that there was issues. It didnt show all my accounts but then after a little while it showed up.

I dont get paid today but i can see how it can be an issue.

I now get a screen on the app saying Mobile banking unavailable - we're performing a system upgrade to bring you a better banking experience.


I assume this is just a default outage page, and they'e not ACTUALLY doing an upgrade at 10am on payday AND Friday
