HTC chargers - what are they thinking??

You most probably didn't buy a Samsung S4 charger - you most probably did buy a replica Samsung S4 charger!

So many replica chargers are naff. They're notorious for spontaneously catching fire and destroying batteries.

Bought a nice belkin charger rated for 2.1A a while back. Has been great. Never used the standard HTC charger but I guess they just thought "its not broke so no point spending money to redesign it" I think they should go the way of Motorola and not include a charger.

I use the iPad charger with my Android phones.

Charging is rapid on the Moto X for example: I've achieved a maximum of 1.4A - maybe that's the maximum, who knows.

I may invest in some of these fast-charging cables.

Nope, these are the real deal. Exactly the same as the one that came with my S4

Unless you buy directly from Samsung I would strongly suggest that they are replica/fakes.

I use one of these link.

Works wonders and even worked fine in the US when switching the connector.

I think 2 ports can charge Tabs/ipads while all 4 can charge phones.
