HTC Desire HD (Ace)

Hmmm, should have definitely held back and not rushed in getting my Desire a few months back.

Performance difference looks to be quite substantial, does anyone have both phones? Is it worth upgrading?

Personally I would say yes, screen size makes all that difference IMO and the devices side by side there isn't a lot of difference in the full device size which is surprising. A lot of the new sense features are nice too, the camera especially and of course it is more powerful.

All round I find it to be an excellent device, so glad I waited instead of getting a desire.

Will keep in mind when thinking about an upgrade. Can't remember when I can/if I can.

That website crashed my browser and my annti virus flagged a nice trojan on my PC

my eset AV software blocked it to for me, someting wrong there.

It's matching your contacts with Facebook & Twitter. Asking you to sync them, just disable it so it doesn't sync your Facebook or Twitter account contacts. Or just match them all up to your existing contacts.

I've been noticing my phone suffering from slow downs today. Any idea why this could be happening?

Using the Quadrant Standard benchmark tool, I was scoring 2000 2 days ago and now I'm only scoring 1700. Scrolling doesn't seem as smooth and even the live wallpaper has the occasional slow down. I haven't changed any settings but have downloaded a couple of apps such as Dropbox and Google Goggles.

Anyone know why the phone has slowed down?

I don't use Facebook/Twitter! . Where do I check to disable this?

I had this and I ended up disabling HTC sense and HTC hub sync. Don't think they're needed for much anyway.

Guys how do I put an .apk file onto the SD card without having to take the card out of the phone. Can't I just plug the phone in via it's USB and then put the .apk on from there?
When on My Computer there is no device showing the SD card like F: or D: etc

Lol, you have to plug the USB in and then pull the notifcation bar down and choose the option "media drive" or something like that :p

Or you could simply use estrongs file explorer and transfer files wireless over your network.

Simply install, choose the LAN option at the top left and choose your ip address computer and type your account name and password in.

Look for the .apk and copy and go back to where you want to put it and paste.

Done, easily with no wires :D
