HTC Desire HD (Ace)

Hi everyone, just received my Desire HD and loving it so far. I just wanted to ask, ive not put in any contacts on my phone (I'll have to do that manually) but it synced with my facebook so when I go to "People" it shows all my facebook friends there. However I cannot add any phone numbers to these contacts - how would I go about doing that? There are people with numbers but they are there already because they're attached to their facebook pages.

Haha worst feature of the HD/andorid right there. Do a little thread search, its everywhere in here.

The easiest way to get rid of it is just not sync facebook with your phone.

If you go into the Facebook app's settings there should be a toggle for syncing contacts or not. Perhaps unticking that will de-sync them?

I am getting lost in the world of Tasker and Minimalistic Text right now. It's crazy what you can do. And crazy trying to type in long URLs and then do debugging on returned XML data on a damned phone...

seems only to be useful to those that wish to downgrade so they can get perm root then upgrade with a rooted rom.

Please keep in mind that the psneuter, as scotty2 says, shoots the device's property service in the head, so it will probably not want to work just as it should after the process

Anyone know when Orange are rolling out the 2.2.1 update? Sounds like most other networks have it already :confused:

I'm Orange and mine's 2.2.1, although I did go via CPW to avoid Orange's own bloatware... possibly if you got one direct they'll need to update their own software too, introducing a delay?

my phone was blinking as though i had a message. it wouldnt show me the message and said it had an error, so i restarted it and its deleted all my messages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not happy about that at all.

You may be on Orange, but you have an unbranded phone, so not an Orange phone at all.

Has anyone had there Desire HD tell them that the sim card has been changed and then had to select there network again ??
This has happened to me 2 or 3 times when rebooting after I've had the handset charging over night.

£19! Wowzers. I'm just getting my HTC HD2 ready for sale and I have to say the chassis design is so much better (minus the hardware buttons - I prefer the touch buttons on the DHD). The battery/SIM/microSD card cover is so much better: metal, and clips into place very very securely indeed.

Has anyone installed a new ROM on the HD ?, I want rid of all the Sense UI bloat as don't use it...

If you have, any ideas on best one ?

Just use Launcher Pro or ADWLauncher to get rid of the Sense UI 'bloat'. No need to flash custom ROMs.

Hiya

I've done that, but if you look at tasks running, there is still some sense ui stuff there in background, and you still have all the sense stuff installed. (and cant uninst it)

Maybe it isn't active though ?

Im a total android noob

... I've used launcher pro to hide all the junk from app drawer

That just gets rid of the front end and doesn't save any resources. Using Cyanogen Mod saves around 200MB of RAM.
