HTC Desire wont boot into recovery

Is it done for?

I've had a hunt around and there seem to be a few posts saying that Clockwork Mod might need recovering, but the way to recover it seems to be to boot into recovery mode..obviously a catch 22.

I can get anything onto the SD card via my card reader, but can't do anything on the phone to actually use it..

Edit: Just trying a fastboot cache clear and recovery mod restore..

Hurrah. Flashing a rom now.

For future reference in case anyone is interested, I ran a fastboot cache clear, re-flashed CWM, and rebooted the phone. Recovery now works .

Is it a HD platypus? Ive been wanting to do something with mine for an age, its still on branded 2.3.5 version but I have literally no idea what im doing. Ive read endless threads at xda and to be honest its confused me even more.
