HTC HD2 - Did I make the right choice?

Hi guys,

My current phone is an iPhone 3G and I have it through my work. With it being a work phone, I can't use it for personal use etc so I decided to set up a new contract with Tmobile.

I don't know much about mobile phones, I liked the iPhone because of the apps it had, but I didn't want another iPhone, I wanted a change.

The HTC HD2 caught my eye and I have heard it talked about quite a lot in the past.

Has anyone here got one, if so, what do you think of it?

Cheers

Love mine. Great screen, useful apps (granted not as many but plenty out there). Check out some of the other threads for good apps but for me MyMobiler and WebCamXP Mobile are two of my favourite. Youtube app works great and is cool for just chillin. Browsing is a joy.

Got mine comming today or tomorrow via T-mobile.

Looks like a really nice phone, I previously had an iPhone so I hope this out does it!

This phone is awsome, I'm thinking this is one of the best phones I've ever had and I change them every 6 - 10 months.

I'm 110% happy with mine, it's got the odd fault but is there a phone out there that is 100% perfect.

Ok if anyones interested ive just done two phones.

Radio 2.80
Xannytech evolution 1.4 ROM
Swype 3.9

Swype can be had here

From what the swype developers have said, they did not wish to sell it out right but would supply it with phones as they are released. Seems strange to me.

Downloaded Swype from the link last night and installed the .cab but just don't seem to be able to get it up and running. Any ideas welcome. :)

You need SIPChange to change the default keyboard on boot (available from my mirror: www.rghjones.co.uk/htc), else you need to press the small arrow (^) next to the keyboard icon when typing to change to Swype manually.

There's no Swype "program" so don't go looking for it in Start Menu etc :).

Awesome! That worked a treat thanks. One other problem I keep getting is Showcase seems to stop working quite regularly. I use it for task switching/closing. Anyone have the same problem? When I try to use the hotkey I have set I get a message stating, "The file " cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a Trusted Certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring the file."

Any ideas again welcomed. :)

Doesn't directly help, but why are you using Showcase? Have you tried using Dutty's TM? It might not look as pretty but it works perfectly and is accessible from the taskbar no matter what program you're in.
