**HTC HD2 Thread**

Don't want to make a new thread, but I have the choice between this phone (H2D) and a X10. Which one would you go for?

Neither...go for the Desire a better handset than both above...the only real good thing about the x10 is the camera which is 8mp but the Desire comes with a 5mp camera and its pretty damn good.

Also keep in mind that the X10 runs on the older 1.6 software, it will get an update to 2.1 which the desire runs but could be awhile yet. Also the X10 does not have multi touch and it wont get it either despite people saying that it will at some point...mult touch is gestures like pinch to zoom etc.
 
Ok, cheers Spawn. I'm already getting the X10 tomorrow but have a 7 day cool off period. Will give it a whirl and see how I get on. The Desire does look stunning.
 
They agreed to change it to the Desire but naturally it's not in stock. The girl blames the volcanic ashes of the past few days :confused:

Anyway, getting the X10 so long and sending it back after a few days for when they get the Desire's in.
 
got an issue with my HD2, been working fine for ages on the 1.66 official ROM, usung the shares app on it which worked without issue, now it wont remember the shares and when I try to add new share it wont add it or remember it - any ideas??
 
Yup gotta love swype. Soundb0y what text and slowdown problems were you having? I am getting a few slowdowns on the stock rom but mainly seem to be so close to running out of room even though I try and store everything on the card. Could other users let me know what the remaining storage is on the phone itself? I am wondering if it contributing to my slowdowns.

I was getting the problem where when texting the buttons would go really unresponsive and what you have typed wouldnt show up until you clicked back in the message area.

As for other slowdowns the phone would start to feel like it was running out of ram and occasionaly freeze and not allow you to unlock. After using a custom rom most of my problems have dissapeared.

I still have the occasional problem but I think thats mainly due to some dodgy .cabs


Oh and this is with the majority of programs stored on the memory card ( I bought a replacement 16gb card)
 
Does this phone record video in High Def?just wondering as the title HD2 to me means it does but i cant seem to find it saying so in any specs.

Well id pick the hd2 but it really depends on what you want to use the phone for. i use my phone for work and in my opinion there is nothing better than the hd2, fantastic exchange support, the only phone where you could actually view a PowerPoint or pdf on the move in a workable manner, the best web browsing experience on any device including the iPhone.

the battery life isnt great, maybe a day with heavy usage but thats thw same with any android device tbh.

I have heard a rumour that there may be a firmware release for the Desire to record in HD (720) but only a rumour I read somewhere. The only other phone that I know of that was supposed to do it out of the box (although from what I gather didn't and will or has had a f/w fix) is the SE Vivaz. I would suggest having a really good read about it to check how good the video quality is though.

Started using it Fens, gonna give it the 15days as is said in the trial before i make up my mind. It really is fantastic in terms of customation as well as quite Android like with the sliding Homescreens.

The Carousel effect itself is really just tacked on or at least it feels like that so far.

It basically replaces Windows Default and you can put Sense over the top of it. I'm really starting to like it though, looks really attractive and smooth to use.

Battery Life wise if anything I've noticed an improvement when using it ;)
