Pictures have surfaced on the Internet that show a new HTC handset the HD7 which will launch with the new Window Phone 7 next month. The handset looks a lot like an HTC Desire HD – with a matching 4.3-inch screen, and a huge rear-mounted camera.
We featured earlier this week an internal document from O2 Germany confirming the price and release date and now it has been confirmed by HTC themselves.
The HTC HD7 is set to feature a 4.3-inch 800×480 touchscreen, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and 8-megapixel camera among others.
It’s thought that HTC will have two phones for the launch of the new OS next month – the HTC HD 7 and the HTC 7 Trophy – and this has since been confirmed by a loose-lipped HTC employee.
The company’s Middle East North Africa’s regional director Mohammad Kais Zribi, said to Gulf-News: “We will be launching Windows Phone 7 handsets next month and we will be concentrating on Android and Windows segments.”
The Windows Phone 7 is thought to break cover on the 42nd week of the year confirming the 18th October release date rumoured elsewhere

Shouldn't take long for WP7 to be ported to the HD2, and then you have pretty much the same thing bar the 8MP camera. :D

Looks almost identical to the HD2 from the front, which is excellent, even got rid of the one thing I hated about the HD2 (the physical buttons on the front). Also looks a lot nicer than the Desire (in drawings at least) so it looks like it will definately be worth waiting for.:D

Yeah I just love the look of the HD2 apart from the buttons on the front!

If Windows 7 IS THE REAL DEAL then I will seriously consider spending my cash on this phone....

That is one sexy mo-fo!:p

Although there is something wrong somewhere, first link (well Engadget schematics post) say 8mp camera, second link says 5mp....

Hopefully the back/side is metal or else the Desire HD is going to be the better built of the two. Not sure I like the "windows phone" logo on the back though.

Same processor as the Desire HD I guess?

Apparently not the same processor... I'm guessing specs have gone ary(sp)... I'm guessing it will have the same processor as the Desire HD, better battery life and better gfx.

I hope this is good, in general terms, WP7 is still under wraps, nobody really knows how good it will be.... yet.

The phone looks rather lush I must say.

Gaaaaah!... I've got 6 months till my contract is up and there's gonna be toooooo much choice when it is!...

Do I go Torch9800, Desire HD, HD7, Samsung (what ever!!) or any others that are out around that time! :( ( :D )

Meh, not interested in the slightest.

The integration google has on the go, is just leaps and bounds beyond any phone/gadget I have ever used. It just works amazingly, I mean my calendar would update literally seconds on my home page as I changed it on my phone.

I just don't see the point, MS had its chance and blew it over and over again.

HTC may have stemmed the flood of HD7 activity, but details about the 4.3-inch Windows Phone 7 device keep leaking out. Today, an O2 Germany tipster blew off most of the remaining doors. We've got what appears to be a full spec sheet confirming a 1GHz processor, 8GB of storage and 5 megapixel camera but also detailing internal memory, a full complement of sensors, quad-band radio frequencies, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and more. There's also a few pictures sizing up the HD7 alongside a Galaxy S, a training slide for the hopefully-more-than-a-marketing-buzzword "Dolby Mobile Sound," and for what we believe is the very first time, a cameo appearance on video. Our tipster says it'll launch in Germany in just two weeks at €559 (about $770) or €79 ($109) on a two-year contract. Tempting, no? Video after the break

I have to agree, I definitely prefer Android to WinMo now. Can't wait to get my Desire HD. Also, hopefully someone will manage to port WinMo 7 to the HD2 anyway ;)

WinMo 7? There is no such thing...:p

On a more serious note personally I'm the same as Begbie, except with Windows Live. One of the things that sort of puts me off going Android, having to sort out faffing around with gmail instead of just typing my msn address into a windows phone...

Whilst you can't get your MSN contacts on Android, you can still sync the mail at least :)
