HTC Leo Info.....?

I don't get it, sure the device looks really nice, and the UI that HTC have put together is great, but none of that UI goodness is available to 3rd party developers, they've got the bog standard WinMo UI or have to roll their own. As soon as you put any apps on it they're going to look like ass.
That's probably why MS aren't shouting too loudly about this device the great work HTC have done shows up the rest of WinMo as a phone OS.

That, and they effectively make most of the 6.5 changes almost irrelevant (i.e. the newly designed home screen is replaced with the HTC one, some apps have been totally stripped out and replaced by HTC's own versions, e.g. the calendar).

HD2 is now up on the HTC site btw

No battery life impressions though... VERY annoying considering the specs its rated for. I hope HTC haven't srewed up here...

the HTC range are the first touch phones to take my fancy, still using generic thin sony phones at the moment.

looking forward to my next upgrade :)

Well there's not going to be a Android version of the HD2, but yes, there are going to be "similarly specced" HTC Android phones in the near future.

Same size screen, same processor, etc... I think it's pretty obvious what I meant to those of a less pedantic nature.

I'm not being pedantic, you clearly said "they're doing an Android version" :p

it IS NOT the HTC Leo

Anyway, as nice as this phone is, i'm going to wait to see how much of an improvement (if any) in terms of size and battery life, Tegra will provide.

I'm assuming it won't be as thin, but battery life should in theory be greatly improved.

looks like I'll need to change networks if I REALLY want this phone, will see what Orange offer should I say its the phone I want lol :p

I will look at my options. My girlfriend is due for an upgrade on her contract (my old one) this month if I remember. So I might be able to use that to get my hands on an HD2. Certainly looks damn sexy. Will have to see what all the reviews say, and see if I can have a play on a in store model, but I think it might be a winner. Using HTC Sense on my Xperia now, and I love it. But the Xperia is too slow a phone really =(

a lot of you guys seem unhappy with touchscreen keyboards and I can see why but I am curious to know whether any of the new range of smartphones do handwriting recognition like the SE P series? For years this is how I text, using a stylus and would love to know whether any of them support it. Really struggling to pick my next upgrade, can't decide whether to jump of the cliff with the rest of the iPhone lemmings or to go for one of the contenders.

Ideally I am looking for a phone that allows:

1. fullscreen browsing (hate scrolling left and right)
2. fun gaming (don't spend a lot of time on train, just want it for fun)
3. strong media capability (movies, mp3 and streaming)
4. ability to access my IP camera over mobile broadband
5. ability to connect with my pc so that i can send texts from a pc based app (like MyPhoneExplorer with SE phones)
6. ability to replace my satnav that took a dive recently
7. handwriting recognition (as already mentioned above)

The HD2 has really got my interest but I wonder how many of the above points it can deliver. Do I take it that a capacitive touch screen will rule out use of a stylus for those who want to use one?

You can get stylus for capabitive screens, so I dont think it ules it out... they just may not be as accurate as resistive ones.
