If you're rooted, download "Disable Service" app, and go to the apps that have a blue number next to them and disable.
The main culprit in 4.3 is googles framework, so try clearing cache/data then rebooting. If rooted again, download "System Tuner" app, and then I can tell you some certain aspects of the framework that are safe to disable and will definitely increase battery life.
