Looking at getting an m8 to replace my aging phone and have seen a "Brand New, sealed" one listed for £189 on eBay which seems very cheap as refurbished ones/used seem to go for about the same if not more (Cex).

It's a few years old now and they still have unopened handsets for sale - would you trust this?

Well it is a couple of years old now.

I think I'd be looking at something else. Perhaps a Nexus 5x, which can be had for around the same price if you look around.

Brilliant phone! it has its quirks like the camera and the lock button at the top but the fact that it still runs just as smooth after 2 years more than makes up for those.

No idea how it compares to the new Moto G. They are only £160 in the highstreet, probably cheaper online.

Thanks for the input all, I will take a look at the 5x/moto g.

Ideally I don't want to spend much more on a new phone but will take a look at alternatives.
I currently have an HTC one s so pretty much anything newer will be an upgrade, my main usage will be camera and Satnav.

If I said I would stretch to £200, what would you recommend over the m8?

Argos just reduced the nexus 5x to. £180

Edit: it might have been that price anyway. Think I was mixing it up with the 32gb version
