Just seen "leaked" photo's and press render of this over on Android Police and I have to say it looks bang on the money if the specs are correct, a real competitor for the Note 3.

I've been holding on to my Note 1 while the 3 comes out but this has thrown a nice curve ball for me. I really think this is my next phone unless the Note 3 really has something special going for it (if they rumours of 3 different versions are true the top end one might be something).

I would prefer the screen to be a little more edge-to-edge though but everything else considered it wouldn't put me off getting it.

I'm sure I read somewhere the htc One Max will only be on sale for the Asian markets, I may be wrong :(

Well HTC have finally released more info for this phone - not as beefy as the Note III by any means but surely not a slouch either!

Specs incl:
Code:
5.9" Full HD display
Snapdragon 600 @ 1.7Ghz
2GB Ram
16/32GB built in but [B]WITH[/B] SD card expansion!
3300mAh battery
217g
164.5 x 82.5 x 10.29mm
Fingerprint scanner on the back for unlocking!?

Doesn't seem like the beast (other than size wise) that people thought it might be! Battery life might well be decent though which is a bonus as the CPU in the HTC One is no slouch!!

I expect it to be rather good, with the big boost over the One being that battery (as 32Gb is enough tbf). Hopefully they price it really aggressively, but I wonder how many days standby you'd get... ;)

10.29mm is too damn thick given the rest of the size. Expect to need a purse to carry it around in. Definitely not as pocket-able as a Note really.

Have to say looks very nice :-)

Just wish Virgin Mobile USA would actually do up to date Android phones :-( (latest they have is GS3, yet still manage to have Apple 5S/C grr!

Its ridiculous. I love the One but the One Max is just a half hearted attempt at the big phone market. It cannot compete with the Note 3.

Same. I feel both the mini and the max is letting the One down, it doesn't seem to be able to compete against the competition. Although it looks better, I would probably pick the Note 3 if I was after a phablet, it seems to offer a lot more and is more compact.

That fingerprint sensor really bugs me though, it wouldn't suprise me if people would just play with it once and then disable it, on that size the placement seems a bit silly. I don't really see any proper use for it either.

Overall I still feel the One is the best phone from HTC's lineup this year...
