Ermmm well £550 is a good price if your buying it sim free ie unlocked and not branded by any network etc.
Now if you buy the phone with a contract, it tends to work out a lot more expensive but you dont cough up the money before u get the phone. For example....you might get the HD on a free contract at say £40 a mth but the contract lasts 18 mths...so 40x18=£720 that your paying over 18mths but as i said you dont feel the pinch as your only paying £40 a mth over 18 mths.
Personally im not a fan of network branded phones so im quite happy to pay £500 odd quid to get a phone that i wont have to de-brand in order to get the best out of it....plus most networks are notorious ie Vodaphone in particular at disabling certain features of the phone.
Apparently Orange will be getting this for release in December in the UK, no other news of other providers at this point.
I would probably pickup experia instead of that. Too used to proper qwerty.
And who cares about camera or flash... i mean... it's a phone, the photo quality is crap on it anyways. Just get a normal camera for photos.
The built in cameras were a good stuff where it came out, some funky trick, everyone was so crazy about it but now, be honest and say how many times you've used your inbuilt camera after having your new phone for more than first 3months ?
it would be make a nice change if orange did get this early, I'm waitingbfor them to get the touch pro and getting very impatient with them.
I gave up and swapped to Vodaphone. With the utterly stupid pricing for upgrades it was much the better option.
Touch Pro, £38/mo, £40 for the phone.
Compared to £200 for an Omnia on upgrade ( or £120 for a diamond ) for a similar contract.
Yet another person who I could have helped.
It is possible to keep your number on Orange, but get it as a new contract.
Leave Orange, port your number to a Virgin pay as you go sim, then take out a new Orange contract and port your number back across, simple![]()
On I knew it was feasible to work around however Orange don't seem to be in any rush to get the Pro and will happily put
Frankly with the crap upgrade prices and lack of the pro they don't deserve to keep me.
Not just that but the HD at £80 on a £40, 18 month contract costs MORE than the Vodaphone deal on the Pro and the Pro is IMO a better phone. No headphone jack but you do get the slide out full QWERTY keyboard.
