HTC Touch Pro2 - "stuck" notification icon

HTC Touch Pro 2 on Orange

When you get a text message you get the "speech bubble" icon appear in the top bar and it won't go away even when you've read the text. Click on it and it just brings up the screen with the big volume/gprs/battery/etc icons on it.

On my HTC Touch Diamond if I click on this, it then displays a bar with at least 2 icons with say a text icon and missed call icon for example, because it can't fit them on the top row.

Any ideas guys?

Have you tried going into"All Messages" on my Touch Pro (1st Touch Pro not Touch Pro 2) I get that and when I go into All Messages it shows the text is unread so you just need to read it there to get rid of the icon. If not try a soft reset.

Are you running the latest rom? I had this issue with an early Touch Diamond rom.
